(C) expire — A lease/contract expires. 'Terminate' = ended by a person; 'expire' = ended by time/natural end. Key distinction for TOEIC.
(A) — After offering the renewal terms, the sentence explaining the price increase follows naturally. It provides the reason/context for the new rate before the deadline instruction.
(A) — After asking for a decision by Feb 28, option A adds urgency (cannot guarantee availability if delayed). It logically follows the deadline and precedes the sign-off.
(B) which — Non-restrictive relative clause (with comma before it) referring to 'programme' (a thing) → 'which'. 'That' cannot follow a comma in non-restrictive clauses.
(C) featured — "will be featured in" = passive. The employee is featured by the newsletter. Past participle in passive construction.
(A) — The sentence must come before "We look forward to celebrating." Option A provides a practical deadline detail that completes the instructions before the closing remark.
(D) both A and B — Both 'enjoyed' and 'appreciated' are correct — natural verbs for a guest liking the restaurant and views.
(C) inconvenience — 'We apologise for this inconvenience' = the most standard and formal customer service phrase. 'Inconvenience' is the classic TOEIC apology word.
(A) — After the apology, a gesture of compensation (complimentary night) is the logical next step before the closing hope to see the guest again.
(B) scheduled — "scheduled maintenance" = planned/routine work. Adjective before noun. 'Planned maintenance' is also possible but 'scheduled' is more natural for IT notices.
(D) both A and C — Both 'prior to the maintenance window' and 'ahead of the maintenance window' are correct formal expressions meaning 'before'. 'Before' alone (option B) is correct too but was not listed as an option here.
(A) — After the maintenance information, the final practical instruction (contact IT if problems occur) directly serves the reader's needs before the apology/thank-you closing.
